Fall 2023 Professional Musical Theatre classes for Ages 14/16 to Adult include Acting, Voice, Tech, and Auditions. Each class is a foundational class and a pre-requisite for future advanced classes in each discipline. Students may enroll in one or multiple classes each session.
This fall we're launching our 'pre-pro' track for students ages 8-13 with a focus on introducing students to professional musical theatre and all that it entails. Each semester here after will include a focus for 'pre-pro' students to develop their skills in preparation for entering Musical Theatre Training Institute's professional certification program which is open to students ages 14 to Adult.
A musical theatre class that incorporates valuable lessons such as teamwork, commitment, conquering fear, being prepared, theatre etiquette, confidence, and an introduction to the professional world of musical theatre. This class aims to give students an arts foundation that can be applied to further training and be an enrichment tool to work alongside their educational journey.
This foundation level acting class gives performers the tools to build sensory and imagination technique while training behavioral reflexes towards truth in imaginary circumstances. Actors will gain knowledge and tools that will aid in developing their personal process and begin to work towards scripted text.
This foundation level voice class will focus on building technique, developing sound, vocal health, effective practice routines, and an introduction to musical elements of harmony, ensemble, and solo performance. Students will learn to care for their voice and improve their technique through a series of exercises, theory, and practice.
This foundation level tech class is designed to give a full range of view into the world of musical theatre technical expertise. With classes discovering the basics of lighting, set design, costuming, hair & makeup, and stage management, students will be given the opportunity to see how performers and technicians interact and work together to create magic on stage.
This class will guide performers on best practices in preparation for auditions, including material selection, performance techniques, and confidence building. Students will learn keys to the audition process that allow them to confidently walk into an audition room, be satisfied with their audition, and even book the job! The most intimidating part of any show is a new experience when you know how to make your audition fantastic and have fun.
Students who successfully pass this class are eligible to audition for Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre via live auditions in January.
All experts & sessions are subject to change. Foundational and audition classes count towards MTTI's Professional Musical Theatre Certification program.
Students actively and currently enrolled in the Musical Theatre Training Institute have first access to auditions, internships, scholarships, and more with CST & MTTI
